I love to write. I also love to create art. As a child, life was very challenging, lonely and even painful at times. Art and writing helped me survive relatively unscathed, with my mind and spirit still involved with… and still able to inform… my heart.
My heart never really surrendered to reason, though it was encouraged to do so time and time again, by my family and by society as well. Instead I managed to keep both reason and passion alive and well… within me. I was able to do this, in large part, via art… because my artistic passion was strong and could not be ignored or lessened by thinking. But, I struggled and I knew I had to find a way to honor this strong passion for art, yet also not abandon my reason.
When I was 21 years old, I met a monk who changed my life. It was through his teachings that I began to awaken to the idea that passion and reason were meant to “enhance” one another.. not frustrate one another. He taught me that my heart was meant to lead and my reason was meant to “serve” my heart’s passion. This realization set my life on a new path.. towards balance.
Today I am retired and spend my days creating art, writing from my heart, learning how to design and develop websites that serve to expand awareness and promote compassionate causes. I also love to cook and incorporate healthy natural foods and practices into my life. I live in Santa Fe, New Mexico with my very supportive husband Richard and recently became a very happy grandmother.
